The Nebraska Legislature passed LB 324 during the 2021 legislative session. This bill allows consumers to purchase small quantities of meat processed in a custom exempt facility directly from the producer. This is an excellent option for farmers who do not have access to a facility with a full-time USDA inspector onsite, and for consumers who do not have freezer space for a whole, half, or quarter beef.

Purchasing a Beef Herd Share makes you a part owner of the animal. This ownership entitles you to as much or as little of the meat processed from that animal. You will work with the producer to decide which cuts you would like and how much. Once that information is in place, a final bill of sale is developed.

This Beef Herd Share will be used for a steer scheduled to be processed August 27th at Oakland Processing.

We will be processing some of our cows into all hamburger in our on farm state inspected locker to give you lean hamburger at great rate. This will be for an 1/8 of a beef which will be approx 30-40lb of hamburger all in approx 1lb pkgs.

Feet from our heritage breed cockerels, roosters and stewing hens. They were raised in a chicken tractor, kept on unsprayed pasture daily and fed non-GMO grain feed from Wagon Wheel Farm. We have a variety of package weights, so if you may receive more than one package to meet the weight.

These stewing hens have reached the end of their egg-laying days and are now ready to make delicious, nutritious broth, soups and stewed dishes for you.

We can send information about cooking with heritage birds, as not all cooking techniques are appropriate for these birds. We do not include the organs with the birds.

Our hens lived in chicken tractors on fresh, unsprayed pasture for most of the years. They spend the cold months in their 'winter quarters' where they are protected from wind, snow and ice. Daily rations include non-GMO grain feed from Wagon Wheel Farm. We appreciate any feedback you wish to share with us!

Our chicken is all natural and free range. Hormone and antibiotic free, they are fed premium organic and transitional grains. If you haven't tried them yet, we highly recommend it.

Berkshire pork is known for lean, marbled cuts. It is a darker meat that bursts with flavor. As a heritage breed, Berkshires are skilled foragers with an ability to thrive in pasture and on dirt. As usual, you can expect delicious, naturally and humanely raised meats from Good Farm.

We process hogs year-round. Please specify, in the customer notes, which date you prefer.

Prices are based on "hanging weight." This is the term used to describe the weight of half as it hangs in a meat cooler with only the usable cuts intact. When it is time to deliver the product, you will then need to order the "Pasture-Raised Berkshire Pork Halves" product and you be refunded the amount of your reservation cost at that time.
