Browse through our Products for Sale Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) We have just completed our second year of transitioning for organic certification. All of our lambs are born and raised naturally with their mothers on our pastures so we can guarantee that they’re healthy. They spend their time on pastures getting plenty of fresh air, sunshine, and clean water as they roam. In the winter months, they are fed alfalfa hay also grown on our farm. Thus providing them with optimum nutrition and health. In turn, they produce a lean, healthy, nutrient dense and protein rich meat. We don’t administer growth hormones or antibiotics. We do not feed any animal byproducts. We do not apply artificial fertilizers or chemicals on our pastures. Instead we feed naturally grown grasses and alfalfa for our lamb. All meat is processed at a USDA inspected facility and vacuum packed for freshness. Additional Information Dorpers are raised on our farm. Dorpers were developed in South Africa. Dorpers are considered the "champagne of lamb meat". For more information click Dorpers The meat from Dorpers has the following characteristics:
Highlights this Month Gas prices are increasing which means transportating lamb to omaha is increasing. In order to keep our prices stable, our lamb meat will be available one order cycle per month, please plan accordingly. Each lamb cut will list next order cycle availability. We are sold out of leg of lamb until November 1. Lambing is in full swing, the rain/snow storm of April 25 took a heavy toll on lamb survival. I moved back pasture lambing from the first of April (after the cold snap of April 2 07) to April 15 this year, thinking I would miss the really bad weather, boy was I wrong. I will end up with lots more lambs this year then last year. Time to start thinking about summer grilling, try a leg of lamb, loin chops or ground lamb. Remember to " Try lamb on your plate in 08" If you have never tried lamb, try ours and you will understand why people say Dorpers are the "Champagne of lamb meat". If interested in pre ordering any cuts, please email us at info@dakotaharvestfarm.com |
