We returned to this family farm to raise our two sons in a rural environment with creeks, bluffs thick with trees, and a simpler life. Their love of animals and nature allowed them to have a myriad of pets, including Sophie the Deer, and also provided a place for forts, hikes, and many campouts and picnics. Kyle and Cole thrived here, but though they are grown and live in the city, they still love to return to the farm for the quiet nature and home cooking! Kristy says, My love for wholesome and healthy food has caused me to create many of my own recipes and revise others to a more beneficial fare using more organic, natural, and unprocessed ingredients. I hope that you and your family enjoy these good and easy mixes. Mike says, K and C Ink Wells is a company I created to publish original pen and ink artwork. I have always enjoyed the black and white format with a subtle splash of colored pencil. I have also created a line of Christmas and Valentines day cards in the past, created commemorative city celebration items, letterheads, and drawings of Victorian homes for the homeowners. These eight prints are a few of the favorites of others and of my own. They are a step back in time to a simpler, more content life of the early 1900s. A time when stress was just the tension on a tire swing rope at full arc, when right-wing and left-wing meant that those were the only two pieces of fried chicken left on the platter after Sunday dinner, or a traffic jam was caused only by people stopping to help the person having the trouble, not just waiting to get past them. There are times gone by that we all cherish, and those for which we long for a portion of again in our own fast paced lives. My hope is that there will be something in these prints that spark a memory in your past that brings a pleasant smile to your face… and let’s face it, we all could use that. Browse through our Products for Sale Ingredients My inspiration for these mixes was to allow busy families to prepare quick food using healthy ingredients, whole grains, unprocessed sweeteners and specialty items that are not always on hand. Our ingredients will be as best as we are able to provide. For a sweetener we use mostly organic sucanat (non-refined cane sugar that has not had the molasses removed from it like refined white sugar. It is essentially pure dried sugar cane juice.), turbinado sugar, non-aluminum baking powder, organic whole wheat pastry flour, organic spelt grain that we grind into flour, sea salt, organic powdered flavorings, dutch cocoa powder, premium dark chocolate chips and chunks, and many other fine ingredients that are used to produce our quality mixes It is best to store mixes in the refrigerator when recieved and place in the freezer if not used within 2 weeks of your purchase. Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) These prints are printed on a natural color of a fine cover-stock parchment paper. They are available in three sizes: 5 x 7, 8 x 10, and 11 x 14. They are delivered flat, not rolled up, shrink-wrapped between two pieces of heavy cardboard. Framing and matting is not available. I wish this was a more healthy mix, but sometimes your just have to leave a traditional favorite alone or you may have a family revolt! So enjoy this moist and decadent quick bread.
