We started raising our own food back then because, having been raised on 'the' farm, we knew home grown food was better than store bought food. We learned that the less chemicals that were added the better the food was and the safer it was. We learned that the more 'natural' processes that we use made for even better food. This understanding also carries over into how we raise our fruit. Eating a 'tree rippened' fruit is like WOW different than store bought fruit that has to be picked before it is ripe, shipped, stored, shipped again, not to mention what else they do to it, for the customer to buy. So we desire to share, not only the blessing of abundance, but also our knowledge of what home grown food can be like. Browse through our Products for Sale Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) We use natural products on the land. Rotating crops every year, letting the ground rest every 7 years as the Bible instructs, at the least. We use the garden areas for bedding areas for the cows during some of the winter months. By doing this we get fresh manure added to the garden as well as wasted hay and straw. More below - |
