Our herd is kept healthy with a proper nutritional diet.

(grass-fed only, free-range, feed-lot, etc.)
Dairy cattle are grass fed rotated on paddocks planted with special high quality grasses. The chicken are free range April through Oct then brought home for the winter and fed harvested organic grains for our farm. All meat animals are grass fed with a small amount of organic grain fed for marbleing.

We do an intense rotation on our crop ground and use alot of green manures, composted manure and some fish fertilizer products.

We use center pivot irrigation on part of our ground from groundwater. We monitor the saturation of water in our soils to keep from over watering
Describe your conservation/land stewardship practices. (if applicable)
(e.g., do you plant windbreaks, maintain grass waterways, riparian buffers, use green manures for wind erosion, plant habitats for birds, improve soil quality, etc.)
We use shelterbelts to protect wind erosion, it also aids in wildlife habitat. We use filter strips and sediment dams to aid in water erosion.

We have introduced the Scottish Hylander breed to produce a very high qualit meat.

I affirm that all statements made about my farm and products in this application are true, correct and complete and I have given a truthful representation of my operation, practices, and origin of products. I understand that if questions arise about my operation I may be inspected (unannounced). If I stated my operation is organic, then I am complying with the National Organic Program and will provide upon request a copy of my certification. I have read all of the producer standards and fully understand and am willing to comply with them.
