Naturally Grown Fresh herbs, Organic Tea Blends, Naturally Grown Fruits & Vegetables, About Us We began market gardening and selling at the Haymarket Farmers Market in the 80's when there were only a handfull of vendors at that market. We've raised sheep, sold grass-fed Jersey milk but now we've retired from much of this, but Dairy Goats have returned to our pastures. We have chosen Nubian Dairy goats from high quality SHOW herds that PUT MILK IN YOUR BUCKET! We will sell stock from time to time. We do have some dairy goats now, we're enjoying their milk and making some cheeses which is available AT THE FARM ONLY from April through November 15th each year. The goats are fed an organic grain mix, herbs and seeds. They eat 'no-spray' alfalfa daily and are given no-spray grass hay in the winter and in their night pen. They spend their days on grass from April through November. Two Dairy Bull calves are raised on our grass per year. The are purchased from our local 'grass-fed' dairy in March, raised on dulited goats milk and put out on our rotational pasture until November when they are butchered locally and made available. We will have some individual cuts but prefer to sell quarters. Seven quarters will be available each year. We are thrilled with our raised bed gardening system which we fill with herbs and vegetables this spring and share from our bounty. The daylily beds are in full growth and this fall we'll be potting some up to winter over in the greenhouse along with some spare hostas we have growing here and there. We've retired our old hens as they were quite old. Twenty-five new chicks will be placed in our portable chicken tractor in a week or so for a few weeks before going to the newly redecorated chicken house. We will have chickens, fed organic grains (hoping for no soy) and running the yards, laying multi-colored eggs by March 2011. We have Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks, and Ameracaunas. Our farm is being set up to feed our family with the extras shared here, at the Nebraska City Farmers Market and from the farm.
