Our main challenge has been weeds on our crop area which we are hoping that our crop rotation will help reduce. For pest control on cattle and poultry we use Diatomaceous Earth. |

Our cattle are grass-fed (hay in the winter) only and have free choice access to a mineral supplement. Our laying hens are on pasture in the spring, summer, and fall and have free choice access to whole grains and a mineral supplement. In the winter they are outside and are given whole grains and alfalfa hay. |

No irrigation, we are working on water lines for our paddock system with the NRCS. |

We are commited to taking care of the land we have and we are working with our local NRCS office to implement some conservation practices - paddocks, water system and crop rotation. |

We have a small herd of Scottish Highland cattle who produce our grass-fed beef and a mixture of brown-egg laying breeds who produce our eggs. The hens are kept in a portable coop that can be moved around the pastures with the cattle. |
