Compost and green manure. Fish emulsion in early spring on seedlings.

When necessary, we irrigate from our household well which is a deep well. We use drip irrigation whenever possible to reduce the amount of water used.

(e.g., do you plant windbreaks, maintain grass waterways, riparian buffers, use green manures for wind erosion, plant habitats for birds, improve soil quality, etc.)
We do all we can to attract birds both for the joy they bring and their usefullness in pest control. Our love of wildlife is the main reason for using natural methods of fertilization and pest control--with the bonus of producing healthy, chemical free food for our families and to sell at market.

We are just crazy for heirlooms! We carry more varieties of tomatoes than just about anyone, not to mention, beans, potatoes, peppers, squash...you name it, we grow it. Heirlooms grow the tastiest produce in our opinions and are beyond compare.

I affirm that all statements made about my farm and products in this application are true, correct and complete and I have given a truthful representation of my operation, practices, and origin of products. I understand that if questions arise about my operation I may be inspected (unannounced) by NFC. If I stated my operation is organic, then I am complying with the National Organic Program and will provide upon request a copy of my certification. I have read all of NFC"s producer standards and fully understand and am willing to comply with them.
