We are located about half-way between Omaha, NE, and Sioux City, IA. We live on the farm my husband was born on. We have 4 children and 2 grandchildren. I started dehydrating and making my own soup mixes after getting sick about 5 years ago. We were looking to get away from processed foods, but missed the convenience. We currently grow most of our own vegetables, get most of our fruits locally, stone-grind wheat for flour, milk goats, raise chickens, sheep and meat goats. Every month we try to introduce a new self-sufficiency skill to our lifestyle. Browse through our Products for Sale Ingredients All of our soup mixes are free of preservatives, MSG, & salt. All mixes appropriate for the Vegetarian lifestyle. All mixes, except Chicken Noodle & Minestrone, are appropriate for the Vegan lifestyle. 3 soups are Gluten-free and others can be made Gluten free by special order Several wheat-based mixes are also available. We grind hard red wheat berries weekly (or as needed) for these mixes, use only sea salt and non-aluminum baking powder. All of our mixes are family favorites and are eaten by our family and friends. Each mix has been developed over time with nutrition and convenience in mind. Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) We are currently growing most of our vegetables on our farm that go into our soups and use natural farming methods. Those that we do not grow, we are very careful about where they come from and we buy them fresh and dehydrate them in our certified kitchen on our farm. We also use no salts, MSG's or preservatives in our soups -- we use combinations of high-quality herbs and spices for flavor. Highlights this Month SOUP SEASON is here!!! We offer 7 different soups that are available in 1.5 to quart sizes for $5 each; or family sized soups that make 3-4 quarts of home-made quality soup. We just do the chopping and dicing for you. Just take our mix, add your own meat (or not), your choice of soup base or bouillon and water -- throw it all in the crockpot, turn on low and walk away. |
