A good choice for a large gathering (Super Bowl Party, anyone?), OR, for many freezer meals for the future. I cooked up one of these for Christmas. It easily fed 30 people, then I made a delicious ham & bean soup with the soup bone, then my dog, Ida, got to enjoy the bone! I tucked some left-over slices in the freezer. Pulled them out for a quick meal weeks later and they were ever so moist and delicious with a re-warm. It is fully cooked, so it is no trouble to put in a slow oven in a roaster pan and allow to warm to about 145 degrees.

YEAR ROUND AVAILABILITY-
Our pigs are raised in the outdoors on dirt and/or pasture with no antibiotics. They graze on greens as season allows. Supplemental feed is ground on our farm using certified organic grains (transitional soymeal). We use a natural wormer. With over 15 years experience in outdoor hog production, we enjoy raising pigs that get to act like pigs. The fresh air and exercise results in healthy, great tasting pork - born and raised on our farm - every time.

***What would a pig cost?***

1) We charge $1.85 per pound of the live weight of the pig.
A 250 LB. PIG WOULD BE $462.50

2) Processing Charge - this would vary on your cutting order. You can customize your order to fit your families needs...size of pkgs., any curing done, sausage in bulk or links, thickness of bacon, etc. We would be happy to assist you in deciding how to place your cutting order.

AN APPROXIMATE PROCESSING FEE WOULD BE $140

TOTAL ESTIMATED COST - $462.50(whole pig)+ $140(processor) = $602.50

TOTAL ESTIMATED PACKAGED MEAT- 130 lbs.

5) We would mail you the processing bill along with a self addressed stamped envelope to pay the processing fee.

6) Once the processing fee has been paid, we will pick up your meat and deliver it on the next NFC delivery date.
