We have 5 children who enjoy living on the farm and helping. In fall 2009 we obtained organic certification on our row crop areas, alfafa fields and pastures. We are so thankful for the opportunity to grow our own food and share with others in our community - thank you for supporting NFC! We have been proud members of the Nebraska Food Cooperative since 2007 and we appreciate your value of good, honest, locally raised food and products. Browse through our Products for Sale Practices (our standards for raising or making our products) Our poultry are day ranged, access to pasture, weeds, dirt during the day and cooped at night to protect from predators. We are pasture based with our goats, swine, and beef. Our goats and pigs receive supplemental grain, but our cattle do not. Our livestock are raised as naturally as possible. We do not feed medicated feed or soy products. We do not give routine antibiotics or hormonal growth supplements. Additional Information We are anticipating the birth of a new baby, so our products are limited at this time - please check back later. Thanks! |

| #2986 | Grass finished Highland beef HALF Order number of halves. This listing is to reserve 1/2 a steer (front and back quarter) from the last of our highland cattle herd. Grass fed and finished on our certified organic pastures, no medications or hormones given at any point in their lives. The steers will be butchered on December 7 and will be ready to be picked up at the end of December. This is a just a deposit and the balance for the processed weight will be due during December order cycle. You will just be paying Grazin' Acres Farm $2.35/lb for actual processed weight of the animal, and you will pay the locker (Pella's in Tecumseh, Nebraska) for actual processing fees once you pick up the beef. The typical processed weight for our highland steers has been 300-350 lbs. Typical processing fees (this will vary depending upon which cuts of meats you get) is around $200.00. For an example using the numbers above, this is how much a 1/2 would cost you: 300 lbs processed weight @ $2.35/lb = $705.00 plus the $200 processing fee to the locker = $905.00 for 1/2 of grass finished beef. Halves that are purchased will not be able to be delivered via the regular co-op delivery methods. The meat will need to be picked up at Pella's locker in Tecumseh, NE. If you have any questions please e-mail. THANK YOU! |
