The Nebraska Legislature passed LB 324 during the 2021 legislative session. This bill allows consumers to purchase small quantities of meat processed in a custom exempt facility directly from the producer. This is an excellent option for farmers who do not have access to a facility with a full-time USDA inspector onsite, and for consumers who do not have freezer space for a whole, half, or quarter beef.

Purchasing a Beef Herd Share makes you a part owner of the animal. This ownership entitles you to as much or as little of the meat processed from that animal. You will work with the producer to decide which cuts you would like and how much. Once that information is in place, a final bill of sale is developed.

This Beef Herd Share will be used for a steer scheduled to be processed August 27th at Oakland Processing.

We use NO hormones, antibiotics, herbicides, or pesticides on our Ranch. Order with confidence. This product will be 94% to 96% Lean Beef! Because product is not always available through out the year you must order in advance with a $500 deposit. All our Longhorn Beef is processed through a certified USDA processing plant in York, Nebraska. Your reservation deposit will be credited toward your final fulfillment purchase. The processing plant gives you select cuts of meat cut to your individual request. Your select cuts will be ready for delivery from the York processing plant in as little as four weeks from the time you placed your order. Processing fees are $1.50/lb and will be added to your fulfillment order.

A side of beef typically occupies approximately 8 cubic feet of freezer space. All of our Longhorns are grass and hay fed, just as nature intended. Unlike conventional beef, our Longhorn Beef is lower in calories, fats, and cholesterol than what you can even find in skinless chicken. This is just what the doctor ordered in today's health conscience and budget minded families.

Because grass-fed beef is leaner than conventionally-raised beef, you want to use "low and slow" cooking techniques to ensure you maintain tenderness and don't dry it out. Contact us if you have any questions!

Ingredients: beef, water, seasoning (salt, pepper, dextrose, sugar, monosodium glutamate, garlic powder), lemon juice, natural smoke flavoring, black pepper, cure (salt, sodium nitrite, FD&C #3)

10 pound box of 1 pound packages of vacuum sealed, USDA processed ground beef. All steers are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished. Never fed grain. This batch of ground includes most of the animal except the highest quality steak cuts, so it is an exceptionally flavorful ground beef.

2 steaks per package, weighing 1.73-2.95 lbs. Dry-aged for 14 days for superior flavor. 100% Grass-fed and grass-finished beef. A popular cut! 1.5 inch thick cut steak. The original Cowboy Steak!

Our chicken is all natural and free range. Hormone and antibiotic free, they are fed premium organic and transitional grains. If you haven't tried them yet, we highly recommend it.
